Our Expert Speakers

Shóna Patterson.

Shóna Patterson is a veterinary surgeon, herbalist and naturopath with a particular interest in integrating medicinal herbs into animal care.

After studying Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy, Shóna qualified as a veterinary surgeon from UCD in 2015. She has since worked across Ireland and the UK in farm and pet practice, gaining experience in conventional, holistic and integrative veterinary clinics.

Her longstanding interest in herbs has led her to focus on growing and working with organic medicinal plants, and she has recently completed a Diploma in Organic Medicinal Herb Growing.

Chris Aukland

Chris Aukland is a holistic veterinary surgeon with over 30 years’ experience in veterinary practice and natural approaches to animal health.

Throughout his career, Chris has developed a particular interest in helping animal owners take a more informed and proactive role in supporting their animals’ health, while understanding how holistic approaches can be used alongside conventional veterinary care.

Chris teaches WHAg’s six-month Pet Homeopathy Foundation Course, sharing practical knowledge and experience to help pet owners support their animals through every stage of life.
